a great day today! it was the second day in a row that felt like vacationing but at home.
1) went to shark reef at mandalay bay with my sister and her children--so fun! no line and no crowds to battle. just a relaxing time. favorite sights of the kiddos and me: the new komodo dragon lizard, the saw-nosed shark, the lion fish (above), the stingrays, the zebra shark (below) and the turtle.
2) lunch at CPK (California Pizza Kitchen) with our little cousins group. we ordered the very best pizza--a new kind i had never tried there before today. it was the california club specialty pizza. so light and delicious. bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado--i would certainly go back for another!
3) swim time with cousins back at our house. it is just so fun to get in the pool when it is ridiculously hot outside. it is refreshingly cool and most all of our kids are to the point where we can just swim with them and not have to help them to swim all the time. they can dive for toys and have races and just have the fun in the pool that we worked so hard to get to with all those lessons when they were littler. i am so glad to see them thriving in their swim abilities and enjoying the water. for me growing up here i spent the summers in the pool. my kids will be the same.
we had such a fun time today. i love to go and do. i enjoy movement. i feel most alive when i am set to doing something.
tomorrow we have a few really fun things planned. can't divulge anything just yet but if i am lucky i will be able to take a few photos to share here later. it could possibly turn out to be day 3 of our vacation at home.
