this year we are doing an afternoon feast at my sister's house with her china and some of new traditions. it will be so nice to attend and not have to host. i've made the pies. we're ready to eat!
the other night we had family home evening with my parents and my younger brother who was visiting from dallas. we made a thanksgiving tree. it was a huge hit! even after the family home evening was over jack and morgan were adding things to the tree. the things they were adding were important things too that i was impressed they thought to add like heavenly father, scriptures, and bodies. this i hope to remember for next year. i loved having that tree in my kitchen for the week.
i love the fall season and the month of november. with having just had sam i am feeling the need to simplify our holidays. only the things that really matter will be on our agendas this next month and a bit. we are slowing down and savoring all the time as a family we can carve out of our schedules. i am so greatful for sam coming when he did so that we are forced in a way to walk and not run through the holidays. i might even crawl!
