while at our cabin i had such an interesting conversation with my brother. i admire him so much because of many reasons but one that stands out most to me when we are together is his knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the "big picture" meaning where we have come, what we are to do here on earth and where we will be heading after this earth's course in time. my brother is a student of the plan of salvation and the mysteries of God. he is noble and diligent in searching the scriptures, attending the temple, learning from today's prophet and apostles and established lds religious scholars. it is so interesting to have down time with him. he is excited to share what he has learned recently. this visit was no exception and i loved what he shared.
then while cleaning out an old file i found this quote that sort of reminded me of my conversation with my brother at the cabin.
"Nothing is going to startle us more when we pass through the veil to the other side, than to realize how well we know our Father and how familiar his face is to us. " (Pres. Ezra Taft Benson - as quoted in 1991 April conference by Henry B. Eyring, "Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson", p. 24)
this got me thinking about some of the macro photos i took of different parts of nature around the cabin. i am always fascinated by God's creations on a macro level. i love to see things through my macro lens. the creativity and detail with which God created things on this earth makes me stagger. it makes me realize that His abilities are so much more than we can conceive. His plan is bigger than we think of on a daily basis and it makes me grateful that He lets me know through His spirit touching my heart that someday i will know more and it will come as not such a surprise. i feel my responsibility is to be living in a manner that will make it possible for me to be qualified in His mind to know more and progress more when that time comes.
