the best thing about visiting california is being able to stay with family. we get to see our cousins and play with them in their homes. and darren and nikki's new home was such a beautiful place. we played with hank and lily and swam in their new spa. jack and morgan loved swimming and playing in the spa. hank and lily got new floating things to let mom and dad relax a little with them in the spa. it is such a fun thing to see these twin babies at one year old. i am reminded of how much fun rod and i had with our own boys at that age. it was a TON of work but fun just the same.
california trips like this one make me wish we lived just down the street from morgan and elizabeth and darren and nikki. the green of california, the flowers and the history just make me happy. but after we return to vegas and i walk in my own home and feel relaxed again and look forward to a night in my own bed, well, it makes vegas an o.k. place to be. vacations are so great. i love to travel and especially when time with family is a big part of the agenda. at the same time i love to come home to our own home. maybe it is all the memories of what rod and i have been able to create together in this home and maybe it is seeing our dog, sleeping in our own beds and swimming in our pool that make it so great. outside of my home vegas is just another place to live. but in my home i focus on my own little family and the great things we have going for us.
thanks california family for all of the fun together. we were comfortable, happy, well fed and treated with love. we miss you all the time.
(the photos from this trip are all phone photos or the point and shoot because we just in the mood to keep it simple. i do miss beautiful, crisp and clear photos. but sometimes the ease of the point and shoot fits the moment best.)
