i think we are probably a family unlike others. we love to go to the california beaches when there is a cool breeze and sun. we have never swam in the california waters. for me the water is just not hawaii. i love to swim in the water in hawaii but california beaches for me unless in the hot summer months all about just sitting in the beach chair and watching the kids play football or collect shells or discover the tide pools together. we spent a day sleeping in and walking down to crystal cove beach. the boys tossed the football and i just enjoyed the sound of the ocean and walks along the shoreline. rod and the boys checked out the tide pools and i started a book. my boys always find something to entertain themselves by on the beach. they taunt the seagulls and find washed up sticks with which to play. all of the beach cottages are under some serious construction and so is the village. next year i am sure it will be finished and even better! we had lunch at the beachcomber there to satisfy our hunger and then made our way over to south coast plaza mall for a visit to the lego store.
jack and morgan have been employed at home with the job of cleaning up the dog waste from our neighbor's yard. they have been saving their money till we could go to south coast plaza and visit the lego store. this was one shopping trip they were beyond excited to do. i was happy that they found what they wanted and were able to purchase it all themselves. they had such a sense of pride and very carefully chose what they wanted for their money. each boy ended up with two large ninjago spinner sets. they did such a good job choosing sets that would compliment one anothers. it is fun to see them buy separately but still want to be able to play with them together. i was super happy because baby gap was just across the hall and i could shop their maternity section for some summer shorts! i found exactly what i needed so it was a good shopping trip for everyone. south coast plaza was fun just to walk around. it was a ghost town and so enjoyable like that! we got wahoos fish tacos for dinner and were done for the day. we had ninjago spinners being played the moment we arrived back at the marriott.
