husband's hobby. . .

all i have to say is that he is taken. yep. he is with me and me alone. i love that he loves to mountain bike and not sit on the couch watching football. he'll watch the superbowl but not all those monday night games leading up to it. he'll tune into the nba finals but not follow every single b-ball game before. instead he rides his mountain bike during the week and sometimes on the weekend with his friends. and when we go to the cabin he usually gets a few rides in there as well. it is a hobby i love that he has! 

 

ella o at two weeks. . .

remember this post on taking photos of newborns in their homes? i love it! i could tell you more of why i love it but showing why might be best to get my point across. these are a few more of baby ella in her home. i had so many wonderful photos from this in home session that i really had a difficult time narrowing it down. thank goodness for her super helpful father (who took her older brothers out of the house during the session) and her very patient mother who spent a few hours with me just having fun moving from room to room placing ella where ever the light would allow. and it has taken me a record long time to sort through all the photos i took but my hope is that her mom and dad will be over the moon with their collection of photos. feel free to leave comments on these. i'd love to hear what you think!

for my niece and nephew i did some research and found this template i can't live without. i knew the moment i saw it that i would be able to use it for hank and lily.

my own motivational poster. . .

my 52 weeks of 2010 continues--i take a photo each week that is based on a pre-determined theme. my sister-in-law, elizabeth, and i are doing it together over here on our 52 views blog.

this week's theme was habit. i decided to make myself my very own motivational poster of a habit i am trying to keep each day. my original vision was a high contrast black and white shot but i ended up preferring this rendition.

 

harris twins. . .

there are a few sets of twins in my family. when these two arrived i could not believe it. there is just something about having two babies to feed at the same time and two little lives to worry about. it was all so very familiar again. i have been missing these two sweet babies and their momma and daddy.

the oldest sister returns. . .

one of my most enjoyable photo sessions was with these two sisters some time ago. their older sister was away in colorado serving as an LDS missionary. i kept missing her as i photographed her sisters together. 

now she is back and i had the chance to catch her with her sisters at home while she was visiting from university. she is super well-spoken, composed and genuine. she was all those things years ago but now she is in her 20's and such a grounded single adult. she makes me happy because when i see her and hear about her life it makes me realize just how great one's 20's can be when one has the Gospel of Jesus Christ to ground, motivate and stabilize you. seeing the three sisters together made me thrilled. they are each filled with goodness. i just had to jump in a few frames to remind them what 40 looks like next to 20. : )
